It was sad and hard to hear of Marcia's passing. I actually don't remember a time when I didn't know her. As a life-long neighbor on our beautiful little Glen Ellyn street, I grew up with her and Erica. In the big back yard, we would play baseball and play on the slippery slide. From back yard birthday parties to seeing her kind and generous smile around town, Marcia was giving and loving. It is hard to describe our neighborhood. I don't think neighborhood's exist like this anymore. I have so many memories of happiness and joy from Kenilworth. When I left Kenilworth eight years ago and moved out to Colorado, Marcia made sure to come say goodbye. My mom was sick at the time and when my mom died, Marcia made sure to reach out to me. Our little families are like a slice of life from the past. I am so grateful for her friendship, for what a great neighbor she was, for having Erica to play with when I was younger, and for how she blessed all those around her. Erica, I am so sorry about losing your mom. I know that pain and it really makes me sad to think of our neighborhood and all the lights which have gone out form the original street. I will also smile when I think of your mom and how she told me the story of our shared Scandinavian pinky fingers!
